eBAY OVER PRICING
-
I don't think that its any secret that prices for collector cars have taken a pretty drastic hit in this economy, but what I can't figure is the logic of some of the sellers on EBay.
Once the add expires and you don't receive your reserve price WHY THE HELL DO
YOU RELIST the car immediately for the same price or in a couple of cases RAISE the
minimum bid.?
Am I completely stupid and is this the new way of marketing being taught in schools these days or are we just seeing an abundance of EBay dimwits lately....
Can I GET A SHEESH???? -
The whole eBay car sales is a mystery to me too. It must be that some dealers get a deal on package listings and it does not cost them anything to re-list.
As far as selling prices....I one had a great driver, a 1975 Chevrolet Impala. It looked good and drove great, but it was not worth anything book wise. I offered it for $1,200, which was a fair price for transportation. I could not get a bite....not one call. Then, my Dad told be to advertise it for $3,000. I told him that was crazy, but I did it. I got a flood of calls and sold the car for $2,400. In my case, the first price must have made the car appear as junk, the second got the car in to the area most people were looking to spend.
Maybe these eBay seller feel the same way......crazy!Ted J. Welch
