    FYI

Watching the Daytona 500 today we seen a preview of the new Disney/Pixar CARS 2 movie coming out in June but apparently without a Hudson?

(Perhaps they felt they couldnt replace the late great Paul Newman's voice so just 'wrote out' the Fabulous Hudson Hornet)....

If so, a big loss for our Brand Marquee to the general public

Yeah I've seen no hint of Doc Hudson... plus they seem to have taken the storyline and put it into a cheap knockoff of a James Bond type spy comedy instead of the uniquely American story that the first CARS was. Basically for me they're ruining everything that was good about the first movie. "YOU MESSED UP PIXAR!!!!" and this may be the first pixar movie I'm not interested in seeing.

Maybe Doc Hudson can be restored and win the Piston Cup again with a new rookie like the Wood Brothers did.

There was a small snipit in Parade magazine a month or two ago that said there would be a nice tribute to Doc in the movie, but that they did not want another person playing the voice of Doc in the absence of Paul Newman.

There is a Pixar folk among us occasionally, maybe he'll chime something in.

What a fairytale story for the Wood Brothers team, couldn't have been a better start to the season.
I always thought it would have been great for Doc to deliver Sally and Lightnings first born, don't know if it would have been a flat 8 or a V4 maybe a V6 would be the most likely. Shame Paul Newman isn't still with us to carry on the his and Hudson's story.

Maybe I am missing something here but, with out Doc (Paul) it is simply a kids cartoon. Do not think I will take the time to see it. By the way, there were several folks driving Hudson's back in the day. Any actor could step up driving another Hudson (perhaps a 53?)and keep the story alive. As for me, no Hudson--not worthy of my time....

For sure that was the craziest Daytona 500 I've ever watched. Trevor who??? There appeared to be a number of lesser known drivers running up front - must have driven the announcers nuts not to be able to throw in Jimmy this, and Jimmy that etc etc etc. Even ole JuneBug was doing pretty good until he ran into the wall. Wild and crazy day for sure.
I was really happy for the Wood Brothers - they deserve a turn in the sun, for sure.
