I was recently helping to clean out a foreclosed home and as I was cleaning the garage there I noticed this gem wrapped in a plastic bag in the wall. I unwrapped it to find an old classic ashtray thats in like new condition. Problem is I have searched the net for any info on the part number and can find none....I am curious if this is a prototype that has never been used as it says sample # on it as well as For production Approval on the back sticker.
Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. I don't know for what make or model this is for either so I am looking for help all the way around. Once again thanks for your time and effort!

Here's my two cents worth, as I recall looks like the rear seat ash trays in 49 & 50 Mercs. I had a coupe of each year and they were in the side panels several inches behind the door opening.

I don't have a clue but they are good looking pieces.
