Thanks for sharing pictures of you car. It looks good.
If you like the car then keep it and enjoy driving it. You will get alot of attention cruising around in it.
If you do not like the car then sell it and let someone else enjoy cruising around in it.

According to my materials,
the Chrysler Windsor got a new Golden Lion 383-cid V-8 promising 305 horses.
In another publication it says that the Saratoga series had a "Golden Lion" medallion used for the new promotion theme.
"Chrysler 1959 - presenting the lion-hearted car that’s every inch a New Adventure"
V-8 Cast iron block.
383 cid
Bore and stroke: 4.03 x 3.75 inches
Compression ratio: 10.1:1
Brake hp 325 at 4600 rpm
Five main bearings
Hydraulic valve lifters
Carburetor: Carter type AFB four-barrel Model 2797S
It appears the same as the engine in the Windsor in this publication exceot that the Windsor is 305 hp @4800 rpm and has a BBD two barrel model 2872S
I would believe this publication because the four barrel will help produce the more horses. But maybe they got the printing mixed up because as you look at the New Car Brochure’s you will see they talk about the Windsor having the big engine as seen in this site:
http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Chrysler_and_Imperial/1959_Chrysler/1959_Chrysler_Brochure/dirindex.html
I think this was a promotional thing from Chrysler. It was the beginning of the flexing of the muscle.
I also believe that the 413 engine was also considered a "Golden Lion:
Hope this helps

Here is some more info about this package. The most unusual feature is the engine. It was a 383 but it was different from most in that it was a raised block. Chrysler big blocks were made in 2 variations, low block and raised block or B and RB. Over the history of the big block the following were low blocks, 361, 383 and the 400. The bores were shorter. The raised blocks were th 413, 426, 440 and the 426 hemi. However in 1959 a 383 was made that was a raised block and it was called the Golden Lion. These RB's can be identified in a couple of ways. There is a raised flat pad to the right of the distributor on the top of the block behind the water pump housing. Info will be stamped on it. Also the blocks are much wider between the heads. The all share common parts (B & RB) except intake manifolds. If you haven't sold it hang on to it!

fatdsoto you are so right RARE Rare car this is the father of the awsome B & RB powerplants to come 413 426 max wedge to 440 6 pack . BEAUTYFUL CAR , Looks to have been very well kept. Personally now with the economy not best time to sell I would hang on to it if you can afford to, there not making any more of them

I do know Chrysler made a Golden Lion & a Golden Commando in the 50's I know the Golden Commando was only available in Plymoputh's witch later lead to the Super Commando & useully signified The Top end V8 engine of that model year ( Excluding the HEMI option )
