1946 Hudson Pickup at Auction
-
Scroll down to the truck.

Assuming this is complete and original, what is a range of value?
Was the visor a factory option for this truck, ditto the fender skirts?
Thanks.

I'm not a truck guy. Love them, spend a lot of time admiring them and funny as it may seem, I have only wished once or twice that I had one. (I do own a first edition elCamino--but, that does not count--it is just a car with a big trunk?)
This is not my bag, but I saw a number of items on this truck that I would not call original. I will not start mentioning them, but you can start with the rear bumper. I would expect also that some of the items are original after market. I am not sure that Hudson ever installed a sun visor at the factory but they are considered original option items--but, on a truck? Fender skirts--out here on the farms of Northern Utah, that is why most folks in my home town bought a truck--fender skirts would only get in the way. If it was original, Utah farmers would have thrown them away or hung them on the walls of the barn. "Form meets function."
Now "Value." There is two ways to look at "value at auction." My experience is that it only an issue of the moment. You can say that it is worth less than the last bid. Otherwise, the person that did not win the bid would have bought the vehicle. I do know that buying a vehicle at auction often means (65% of the time) that you are going to pay a bit more than the vehicle is worth. The thrill of the competition at auction can drive a price more often than true value of the vehicle.
Wow, a lot of opinion on this one......Brownie -
It all depends on what you want. It is a very nice vehicle, and has "Hudson"item's added to it. It is not however as a truck would have come from the factory.
The low chrome on fender, rear bumper,2nd tail lamp, parking lights on top of frnder, fender skirts. All are items you may find on a Hudson car but not a truck.
My own truck has most of these, so I'm not putting it down. Just trying to answer your question.
I can see the radio and the visor as being an original truck item. I see folks try and sell trucks like that on ebay for $45,000 at times. Not sure how often they get it. I would say that any solid one that runs and drives though is $10,000,
