Pretty pricey, considering all of the neon is gone and you only get one side of a sign, as well.
If I would take the time to learn how to do neon, bet I could build signs better than this for a whole lot less. -
The first time I visited the late Jim Harmon in Banks, OR, about 15 years ago, there was a nice neon Hudson sign in his driveway. He said he was hoping someone able-bodied would drop by, because he needed to move it, and it was a little much for one guy, especially trying to be careful with the neon.
He said a guy was cleaning out an old building in town, and found it in the attic. Jim was especially tickled that the guy said "I found this, and there was obviously only one proper thing to do with it." Jim was truly "Mr. Hudson", both to us and in his community. I got "the tour"- he had Hudsons in buildings and barns all over the area. -
Way too big for my garage! Hope it goes to a good home and it sells for a reasonable price.
-
too big for mine too. mine only has 10' walls so the 11' would be a tough fit. i bet i could make room somewhere though, if i had the cash that is.
-
whew! $1625. well they aren't making any more originals so it's understandable it went for a pretty penny. hope it went to a good home.

Maybe the new owner will change it to LED lighting, there is some pretty cool stuff out there and looking at it would be hard to tell the difference until you are right close up and its getting way cheaper and doesn't cost much to run
and with that beauty you would want to have it on as much as possible
the thing with LED you can run about 10 yards on a single transformer and you just cut it to length and solder on new leads and this is possible every 2" should you want, we use quite a bit off and on at work

Mike,
The LED sounds interesting. Do you have a link to the product source?
Thanks, Dave -
