S & R - 39CC 8

The Search and Rescue team is at it again. I rescued a 254 from the 39 Country Club that wouldn't even cast a decent shadow.
Wasn't sure what to do with it but t'other day it dawned on me (like the guy who stayed up all night wondering where the sun went) that I could use it in my 46 Pickup instead of the stepdown 8 from the Royer estate, and not have to deal with the steering box interference.
Since I have to do some work on the 49 Commadore 6, I may just run the Royer 8 in that for a while. It ran fine in the Hornadore for the 2 years I was fixing the 308.
Started taking the 8 apart today. Head, exhaust and intake is off. Except for a few broken studs and nut vestiges, things look OK so far. I'm going all the way to the mains so I know what I have.
Stay tuned
