Tires for a 1965 Ford T-Bird
-
Hello all!
I have a 1965 Ford Thunderbird (2 door Landau) that needs new tires BADLY. I am stuck on what kind or brand to buy. I want to keep the white walls and original rims, but I would like to get something more like a radial tire instead of the steel belted style. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a good brand or type of tire?
THANKS A BUNCH!! -
Have you tried looking on Coker 's site?

No I haven't. I'm looking for a good tire that is good for show and for semi-daily driving (weekend's).

Radial tire are steel belted tires. Are you perhaps refering to bias ply or poly glass tires. Neither style will handle anywhere near the handling of a good steel belted radial.
If you do not need wide white wall tires, then there are many manufactures of good white wall radial tires out there, as long as you do not buy the cheapest. Those are usually a low grade tire that will not handle well on such a heavy car as your T-Bird.
A very good handling white wall radial tire that I have been using on my cars for decades are made by Michelin. However, I have used other brands with good results.
