engine identification
-
I have a 49 hudson club coupe and I have been told this is not the correct engine for the car, could you help me identify it, I have casting numbers and stamped numbers off the block and head.
Machined surface on the passenger side top of block reads: 33528
Under the distributor the casting number reads: 304539 then under that CWC and under that 1
The head has a casting number 309121 CWC and also 308, the head is cast iron
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Mike -
If its the original motor the serial on the block on the passenger side (33528) should match the serial stamped on the car. In the door jam of the passenger side you should have a tag with the same serial number stamped on it.
I will attach a photo of what the tag looks like.
Hope that helps
