Welcome to the old car hobby.
I did the same thing (bought a restored car). After making slow progress on
the Hudson I had bought to restore. My thinking was I may never fix it , so I should buy one ready to drive.
I bought a fantastic looking 1948 Hudson Commadore Club Coupe. And must to my distress it turned out to be a trailer queen. The guy discuraged me from bringing a trailer. He said "Hell Just Drive it Home".
The Absolutely Scarriest 75 miles I've ever driven. That car taught me alot about alot of things. Formost I would Never Do That To Someone !
but after a year of tinkering with it and fixing this and that. It drove like a new car, and it looked like new. But it "Looked New" when I got it.
I drove it anywhere I wanted, it had the 8cyl and overdrive. It would run all day 70mph if you wanted .
It did have one thing that bothered me though, it was too nide looking.
Made me nervous as heck to drive it in traffic. Or to park it in a parking lot.
I've sold it now and am currently working on a 1947 Hudson Pick-up.
