1964 Fairlane door keys....
-
Hi guys. I have a 1964 Ford Fairlane. I have a key for the starter, and one for the trunk. Neither key will lock or unlock either of the two doors on the car. Can a locksmith make a key for the doors or is the trunk key supposed to work there also? Do I have to replace the door locks?
Thanks, Donald. -
Yes a good locksmith can easily do that. A realy good one will make a key for the lock without even taking it out of the door. Expect to pay $15-$20 for each one he does.

Thanks Roger. That is good news. I can live with three keys. Donald.

Sometime the locks dry out making the lock tumblers difficult or impossible to work. Try sqirtling WD-40 into the lock. Work the key in and out and twisting the key. That may free up the lock tumblers if the keys happen to be the right ones.
Had to do that to the lock on the front door of my home recently. Worked like a charm.
Good luck. Lee O'Dell
