New Zealand Earthquake
-
A major earthquake of 7.4 magnitude hit New Zealand, triggering widespread damage in Christchurch. My thoughts go out to Gilbert & Andrea Dallow, whom own a beautiful '54 JetLiner as well as a couple other Hudsons there in that town. I believe this is 5 hours south of Geoff Clark, so he should be okay as long as they don't get tsunami waves.

Our thoughts are with our friends in New Zeeland. Hope everyone is ok.
-
I believe the folks that brought the '34 Hudson 8 to the Pontiac National last year were from the Christchurch area.
Our hopes and thoughts are with them tonight, as well as all in New Zealand.

Memphis, TN -
Visitors to last years nationals included at least 3 Christchurch couples, Tony & Lynette Mallard (Huddy8), Graeme & Kay Shaskey together with Gilbert & Andrea Dallow. Happily there have been no deaths reported, little personal injury & much of the damage confined to older multistoried buildings.
I've not been able to get in touch with any of them yet & we are asked not to use the phones unless urgent but I do expect them all to be OK.
Also luckily there are NO tsumani warnings!!
Thanks for your concern.Dave Y

Slept right through it here, 200 miles north-west.

I just got back home from an overnight camping trip to find an e-mail sent from the Dallows Friday night that read:
"We are both OK, but plenty of our friends aren't. We have been without water to our home since the earthquake but have had electricity which a lot of homes haven't. We had the first quake at 4.35am and a large after shock about every 30 minutes for most of the morning."Take a Ride in a Hudson Jet!
