Hello all I am new here!

So a family friend of ours has had a Mach 1 Mustang (1969 I believe) just sitting at there old farm house. Unfortunatly It has been sitting under an eve since about 1995 maybe. It is nowhere near perfect condition, but everything is there and intact. The down fall of my find is that the roof has bowed in Im assuming due to the amout of rain that has sat on it for the past years. The interrior is still good I think and no mold is growing.

If I were able to get this at a minimal/no price would it be worth it to try to restore it? Where would I go abouts getting a new roof to weld in place? I know this would take lots of work but I think I am be willing to try.

I was told the car ran fine when it was driven to where it sits. (A brother owed him some money and so he gave him his car as a payment,,,and there it sits....)

Would just the motor be worth pulling and building up?

Here is a pic I entered into the fair a year ago! :p

The first thing is, how bowed is the roof? If there is a non-crease in it then it is probably from something falling on it. Something like that can most likely be pushed back out and checked on the inside of the car (after the headliner is removed) to make it rigid again. Check at a few good body shops around where you live and they should be able to help you. You may want to take some pictures of it to show them for a reference.

I would evaluate the work needed before you decide to do anything to the car. It may not take a lot of work to be put back in shape.

Don't make more work for yourself.

You know I never thought about somthing falling on it. That could be the case, it does look like somone just ploped their butt down right in the middle, or somthing of that nature. I will have to go take a look at it somtime this week to check it out a little more. I just recon'd it was from water because it has been sitting under the eve for the past 15 years.

I will indeed do my research/investigation before really considdering picking it up.

I just thought Id ask a few suggestions before going any further.

But Indeed I am very interested in this car and whats better to spend money on then a car!
