1955 ford fairlane engine

my grandpa recently purchased a 1955 ford fairlane club sedan with the VIN#U5RT16611 i need to know if it has the 292 V8 or the 312 V8 any help would be muchly appreciated

Code "U" in 55 was the 272 engine. The 312 didn't come out till the 56 models. The 292 engine is code "P". The engine code is the first figure of the VIN #
