47 parking light lens
-
I am in need of a pair of lens for the parking lights of a 47.Any one know of any?Or am I looking for hens teeth?
-
K-Gap lists a 1941-47 lens on this page of their on-line catalog: http://www.k-gap.com/cat/Page6.pdf
-
Thanks I missed that page in the cat.Dont know whether to blame old age or the puter?

Hey guys, I called K-Gap and they do not offer them anymore. They gave me a name and number to call to a guy that may be reproducing them and he sais that he hasen't and would need a good lens to make a mold from.
So I think it more of the hens teeth right now, -
You could try one of the following, in regards to reproducing lenses:
Kelly's Lenses, 692 Vallombrose Lane, Chico, CA 95926 (530) 891-5819
Kip Motor Company, Inc., 2127 Crown Road, Dallas, Texas 75229, (972) 243-0440 (They specialize in British cars but can probably make American lenses as well.)
Maybe you could make several lenses and sell them to others who are looking for hens' teeth as well! -
I think K-gap used to make plastic repro ones is that correct? Anyways the originals were glass. They can be found most junkyard cars have probably been stripped of them by now.

Hi Chipmaker,

Chipmaker, check with Steve Traudt at HETstcozu@gmail.com (drop the HET before sending). He's a Hudson guy (therefore a good guy!) and he has the expertise to replicate these lenses in plastic. Maybe there is a modest market for these, if indeed they're "hens' teeth".
