Hey Ron, I have a question about the old FE cruise-a-matic tranny. A friend has a T-bird and if let sit for several days the tranny will leak maybe a quart or more of fluid on the floor. If driven every day this doesn't happen. It does not leak while driving either. A mechanic told him it was not the front or rear seal leaking. Any ideas, Thanks, Richie.

Most likely what is happening is that as the converter drains back into the trans from sitting, it fills up and burps out of the dipstick tube. Many cars do this.
I worked on a 57 Chrysler that was that way and many Chevrolets. I think that Chevy guys have a "thing" that fits in a dipstick tube to eliminate that.
Try the guys at Fatsco Transmission. They may have an answer for you.
