Estimate on selling price for 1965 Falcon 2dr
-
Had a neighbor stop by the other day and he mentioned how he ownded a 1965 ford falcon 2dr and was looking to sell it. He said he had know idea what the value would be, so he gave me some pictures to hopefully get some sort of idea. It is an inline 6, 3 speed he says it was running when parked a few years ago. Thats really about the extent of what he knows unfortunately.
I put some pictures up on my site and would appreciate any guess as to what it's worth. He says the body is overall straight, but it looks pretty damn rusty, so I'm sure he doesn't have his hopes up lol. Thanks!
Here are the pics: http://280-z.com/falcon/ -
The car looks in not to bad a condition on the surface. Surface rust is not all that bad. It's what you don't see that can hurt you. You need to look under the carpet (if it has carpeting) and under and behind the rockers. Also look in the trunk extentions (the drop down areas at both sides inside the trunk) and underneath the trunck.
A car like this (2 dr. sedan) in great shape will probably only bring about 6 or 7 thousand dollars. You will have more then that in the retore even if you do the work yourself. Parts for the car are out there, but they will not be all that easy to find and many will be used parts. (so you may have to refurbish them also). You will also more then likely have to fabricate some things like some of the sheetmetal.
It looks like it could be a fun project if you are looking for something to fill your time and not be in a rush.
What's it worth? Easy, whatever someone is willing to pay.
Sorry, maybe not much help. Just trying to enighten you is all.
