1954 Pontiac Starchief
-
I was just left a 54 Pontiac by a family member who didn't take much care of it. I am going to attempt to get it back on the road butI am trying to find out as much info as I can about the car before I get started. My question is . This car , as you can see on the tag in the picture, is a 5430 body. I have been told that 5430 is not a pontiac body number. Does anyone have info for me?
Thank You

Style No 54 = 1954 Model Year
2869WSD = Series 28, 8 cylinder, Star Chief, 4 dr. sedan Custom
Body No. 5430 = The production serial number of the body.
It was the 5,430th body made at that plant.
The "P" may be for the Pontiac, Michigan plant but I would have to know what the first letter in the VIN number is.
Trim No 74 = Brown/Ivory Cloth and Leather
Paint No. 22 = Biloxi Beige / Winter White
ACC Codes I don't know so you will have to see what options you may have on the car. There are a lot of options in that year.
Hope this helps
Ron
