problem staying logged-in
-
super-six wrote:Anyone have any trouble staying logged-in? Every time that I close out Explorer and re-open, I always have to log-in, even after checking the "remember me" option. This is the only website that this occurs.
Same thing is happening for me. Even if I re-save the link after logging in. -
Could be many reasons that it's happening..
I have saved the Location as both a bookmark and as a desktop Icon:
http://classiccar.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=62&jfile=forumdisplay.php&f=13
I also run FIREFOX web browser..Much more reliable than Internet DESTROYER..

I have the site bookmarked and I have the ClassiCar login at the top left. No problems logging in.
I'm also using Firefox, so your problem may be IE.

I guess it's just Super Six and I that are having problems. I'm also using Internet Explorer 8, and have had nothing but problems with this for at least a month now. Kind of makes browsing the forum just a bit of a pain. -
Yes, it happens to me alot and I have IE. Also, when I try to answer a post I'm often sent to User Control Panel - Latest Reputation received, or elswhere, or a message - the internet can't find it, or webpage has expired. Have to click file, exit. Usually, I have to start all over again to get back to the forum. Fortunately it's on my favorite list. But still annoying.
A while ago a friend told me to have the cable guy check out the computor. So the next time my TV acted up I ask the Charter cable guy if he would check out the computor because it was acting up at the same time.
He thought it was the Verison telephone box that was the problem. When he bypassed the phone box, the computor worked much faster. Even though it slows down the computor I don't see how it is causing the internet problem.
Have a good day. Lee -
Well, its not really a mystery. To hold your login, your computer must accept and retain cookies sent by this site. There are many reasons that cookies are not accepted or are swept clean. Security settings, anti-virus software, firewall settings, system tuneup utilities, adware blockers, and user error to name just a few. Bottom line, if your browser has the ability to accept and retain the cookie, you say logged in. The default setting in IE prevents cookies from being accepted. Its Microsoft's way of saying "We love Man" and we don't want you to sue us.

I keep getting prompted to enter the Admin ID and password, every time I come to the site or change areas...
Was here this AM and it was not happening - This afternoon it does - some change made?
Addendum: Did it again when I posted this, and again when I went back to edit/add this info... (hitting the 'Cancel' button gets you past it, but it is annoying

Same here. I must need a new computer. -
I wasn't having any problem being "remembered" when it came to log-in. My user name and password, along with a flattering poitrait of my handsome face, stayed viable on the left hand side. It was nice because at my age there's sometimes a lot of the CRS disease.

For some reason, an ad has taken over that slot, so now I have to log-in on the right hand top side like everybody else.
Hate ads.
