'36 REO Flying Cloud cracked head
-
I have a '36 REO Flying Cloud with a cracked head. The head is cracked too badly for repair I believe. Does anyone have any info on where to find a replacement. Does this vehicle share the same head as any other such as oldmobile, buick, kaiser. Any info on these heads and or gaskets will be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm fairly sure the engine would share no parts with engines made by other manufacturers, since REO (I think) made their own engines.
Are you a member of the REO club? I'd think that finding parts and information would be much easier that way. I see that it's online at http://www.reoclub.org/.
You could also pose your question at the AACA's forum devoted to REO's: http://forums.aaca.org/f195/
Finally, you might take the head to some local welders. It's always possible that they could fix it. -
About the only interchange would be from a Reo truck with the same size engine. I'd take Jon's advice and try to find a shop that specializes in cast iron welding, try a truck stop. if there's one around they probably know of it.
