I have been running Champion RH10C plugs in my 262 for years and I am considering running a hotter plug.

Any recommendations as to what plug I should use and what the gap setting

for the new plugs should be?

    THANKS,

    TOM

On my 308 I am using Autolite 437, which would be the equivalent to H-12. They work the best for my engine. From what I understand, former Champion H-10 and H-11 have been combined to Champion 855-1.

You didn't mention whether you're running an aluminum head or the cast iron one. My references show Champion H10 for the 262 with aluminum head, and J9 for the cast iron. NAPA lists Champion J6C as the current replacement for the J9.

TOM , you only want to go hotter if your plugs are fouling . You can get too hot and cause trouble . I'm useing NGK 6bL in my 212 and they run real clean but not brown . A very very light tan is all the color you want on the hot side and light grey to white on the cold side . Too white is too cold . BUD
