We've been waiting for this day a long time... Brought our Jet home today! Still some things to do on it, but what a relief it is to have it back in our own garage.

Nice...very nice! There's something about getting back a car after a good paint. It's like the light at the end of a tunnel of a project.

What did you have done to the Jet? Paint? It looks fabulous. What's left to do?

I have a husband that nobody's ever met, lol. Even at 6'3", he's got headroom in it.

Didn't get much sleep for a couple nights before it came home. It's been such a long process, we keep peeking in the garage to make sure it's really there.

As far as what's been done. Well, following are a couple before pictures of what it looked like when it was bought six years ago. For more of the restoration, you can follow this link:

Definately plan on bringing it to Spokane. Need to get front end alignment before we put too many miles on it. The front and rear bumpers need to be installed, but rear bumper needs straightened and rechromed. Need to recover and install interior door panels. We need to put the JetLiner trim on, but some of our horizontal spears are not as good as desired, so we chose to postpone any trim until we could put it all on. There are several other little things, but isn't there always?

Very nice looking car. Once you get to this point, it becomes fun bolting on all the new parts. I always liked the look of the jet, in fact I kind of keep my eyes open for one for sale locally.

I may know where there is one that has been recently banished from it's nice warm garage after many years of faithful service to make room for a beautiful 54 coupe. Poor little thing is probably setting outside with weeds growing up around it.

That's it! Pretty sneaky using an old picture. I can't believe you posted a picture of your new girl friend next to your old one. Poor little car is feeling pretty neglected. It just looks so lonely.

    Hi Sarah,

That New Hudson feeling is the greatest.

In my life I had several Hudsons that I kept going out to look in the garage just so I could see it again.

You are a true Hudsonite to be excited about your new car!

SuEllyn is very happy for you also.

What a cool Jet! I actually drove a new '54 JetLiner that was the very same color! The thing my brother and I most remember about it was its super ability to go thru deep snow in NE PA and Rochester, NY. Don't think we ever got stuck! Thanks for the flashback!

We found a local shop to do a front end alignment on the car. Still some play in the wheel and a little shimmy when you get it up towards 40/45, but much much better than before. No more squeeling wheels. Put about 8 miles on it today!

It's great fun driving your new toy for the first time. I just got my 17 on the road after a long wait. Still not done yet, but fun to drive.

    Congratulation!!
