Fuse

I just bought a 1931 plymouthand have bought new harness's as the old wiring is falling a part and was pieced together. There is supposed to be a fuse on the ammeter gauge under the dash. There isn't one there. Does anyone know what size (amp) it is supposed to have. It has the original generator on it. Thank you for any help you can give me.
