General Information Handbook

I have finally decided to put the Handbook on-line. It is, at 255MB's, to large to go on the hetclub.org/burr web site, so it can be found on Gregg Maroney's site @
www.HudsonManuals.com
- you can find it at the top of the page. Be patient if you down-load it. Start - then go watch a NASCAR race or go shopping, or whatever. It is going to take a while to download due to it's large size.
I gave this a lot of thought. I'd like to see more people have access to it for one thing. I put my thoughts out asking those who have purchased a copy what they thought about it becoming open property. No one objected, to the best of my recall - and I thank you for that.
There is an upside to this - those of you with older versions (this is a new version, 10 effective June 2010) can bring your books up-to-date by periodically checking to see if I've added anything. And I probably will - driving Gregg wild with the changes he'll have to put in, I think. Also, at the age of 73 (almost) I'm slowing down a bit. It's time to put this book into the cruel, cold world, more or less permanently before I become permanent.
Any way - I am grateful for the support I've been given in the 35 years I've spent putting this thing together. Those who have bought a copy over the years have, I think, found it useful. I was looking at an original version that I printed in 1984 - it had no pictures and 175 pages. We printed it using the old stencil things, can't remember what they call it - you type the text on a stencil, put it on a drum and start cranking. So, it took 175 stencils and a pretty good while to print the first book!!! Now I can print 300 pages in about 45 min using a laser printer off a computer hard drive. Amazing this technology.

Are you thinking about stencils and mimeograph machines to make copies that have a strong odor? Blue color? Maybe, thanks for your effort and contributions. Bob -

Having both purchased a copy, been an 'off site" back up & contributed to your collection, I think you've made the correct decision, but please DON'T STOP adding to & updating your amazing work!!!
We used to call those old stencil machines "Gestetner's" when they came from the US & Roneo's that came from the US.
I remember cranking out youth group newsletters in the 50's, I still get reminded of the distinctive smell & I don't know if I've yet scrubbed all the ink off my fingers.Dave Y

I bought the handbook not long ago.
I think the more accessible the info is, the better. Older members are becoming fewer and fewer so these cars are getting into the hands of younger people with much less knowledge of them, from factory specs to actually working on and keeping them in running condition. Bravo to those that chose to share any info on these fine automobiles. -

THAT's what it was Bob. I think half the teachers in the country walked around looped by the smell. LOL
