idle speed on a 55 chev
-
Just wondering if any of you knew the idle speed of a 55 chevy bel air. Mine is currently idleing at about 1100-1200 in park and around 500-700 in gear. Wasnt sure if this is the norm for a straight six. This is my first project keeping the six cylinder in; instead of pulling it for a 350. Any way if anyone knows any ideas on this or if it is a problem that I need to be fixed. Just some more background on it; there is new intake on it and dual headers. The dwell and timing have been set, not 100 percent sure on the timing; but it has ran better since we adjusted it. Also has dual carbs on the intake. Thanks all

Sounds right for the way you have it set now to me.
