Essex Service Manual
-
Anyone know if there is a mechanical procedures manual available anywhere for a '30 Essex Super Six? I've looked at the club store and don't see one. It's time for me to look at the front end and I've never worked with kingpins, or lots of other parts on a '30s car. Thanks.Steve

Have you checked the on-line repository of Hudson-Essex technical and sales literature at http://www.hudsonterraplane.com/tech/tech_index.htm ?

I don't think we have a 1930 Essex shop manual - yet. I say yet because for a long time some were looking for a 1930 (1930-1933) shop manual for Hudson and such appeared not to exist.
All of a sudden they started coming out of the woodwork - and there is a copy of that (1930 Hudson 8 Service Operations - also for 1931-1933) manual on the on-line web site.
The site Jon posted is mainly manuals - and there are some Essex manuals there; ie, body parts book, parts book, and an owners manual. On my site the manuals are duplicated with Gregg's site, but I also have, in the Parent Directory, some Mechanical specs and a couple other things.
That's at http://hetclub.org/burr

One thing I have never seen...a 'Service Manual'. I think I have everything but that animal, and passed what I had onto Alex a few years ago. If I remember correctly, the Body Parts Manual had some good pictures and drawings of many components.

As I said in my post above there is a 1930 Essex parts list book on the on-line library @ http://hetclub.org/burr - scroll down to the Manuals link and that will take you to a list of available manuals. Scroll down to 1930 - if you hold your mouse pointer over the link, the full name should appear at the bottom or your screen (or somewhere on your screen). Feel free to download anything you need - that's what it's there for. I think you'll find the quality to be very good.

If anyone wants a copy, I've got pdf's of 1930 Essex Export Parts list (8 meg) & 1930 Essex Electrical Data (750 kb). I scanned the Export price list & don't remember where the Electrical data pdf came from, maybe Alex Burr?
The pdf's are probably too large to email but I could burn to a CD & mail.Dave Y

Dave,
I believe you sent me the export parts list booklet (64 pp??), and thank you very much, and that is now in the on-line library. So folks interested can get it from there. I got to start inserting credit pages in this stuff I get from others.
You most likely got the electrical info from me - that's also in the on-line library.
