1931 Hudson Head light lenses
-
I have a friend here in NewZealand who has come across a NOS set of headlight lenses for what is believed to be a 1931 Hudson. They are the teardrop shape Depress beam and have the number 12818 on them. If anyone is interested in them I can give them his contact details.
He wants $50 each for them plus postage -
I believe the only year for those tear drop shaped lights was 1933 - tho they might have been used on the 1932 Model L Major series. I'm not sure about that.
I have a picture in my General Information Handbook of a 1933 Hudson sedan with the tear dropped headlights. Back in the 1970's I found a set in an antique shop near where I lived in Maine - strangely these were mounted on a cross-bar like that which was used on the 1930 Model U's.

If you look at Butler's "History of Hudson" page 140, top right, the description of the headlights is "an egglike outline". Early '31's had left-over '30 lamps, and then they went to the "egglike" shape. These were flat. The '33 lenses were slightly domed. If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging.
