Anybody have some ideas for a forced induction project on a HASH, it just won't get out of it's own way....she needs some boost. Price isn't really an option, but I would like to find a 4-barrel intake manifold first....I have a carburator...just need the intake manifold and some descent ideas, cheaper is better though, seeing as it's a side project.

These folks have done all sorts of flat-head injection. Pretty drool-worthy site, lots of super chargers.

Are we talking about an AMC 327 or the Packard 320/359. Paxton ('McCulloch) superchargers were in use then. Thunderbird, Studebaker had them on V8's. They're out there, but not cheap.

    I can't believe I didn't mention that...it's a 352 Packard.

I had that engine in a '55 Packard 400, and it moved that barge along pretty smartly. You might want to make sure the engine is performing properly before calling in Mr. Paxton.

I took my driver's license test, when I turned 16, in a 1956 Hudson Hornet Hollywood that had the Packard 352. After receiving my license I did a lot of driving in that car. For it's day it had a lot of "get up and go." Like Mike said, you might want to make sure the engine is performing properly.

In 1958-59 I owned a 1957 Hudson Hornet Hollywood Hardtop. One day I wrung it out at 107 MPH. Probably wasn't accurate, but it laid rubber from the start. Stock Packard V-8. Don't know if that means anything, but maybe the Engine Doctor is in order. I do remember it had a 4 barrel.

It drives just fine....I'm just a performance kinda guy.

My old car was a 69 Trans-Am with a 455 my dad gave me....

I'm restoring this car and the engine and trans are just fine,

it runs well and everything....i just want it to run even better :)

I was thinkin' 6psi? Anyone know where I can find one?

    Namccarty, A Guy that i know has a 56 Carrabien ? 352 that has a 2-4 barrel manifold and a 3-speed trans.with overdrive in a barn closeby me.

I will see him next week and see if it is for sale and is it any Good?

He used to race it in a 1950 Merc, and i ran him many times on the Strip with my 1954 Hornet but never could beat him in the 1/4 mile.

If intrest let me know and i will see it next Thirsday.

Hudsonly Rudy ( top speed on the Merc. was 120 and it would just keep pulling above that )

Yeah, they had the same engine in those and stuff. I like the idea, but I barely have enough room for my cars as is hahahaha, does it have a Paxton supercharger on it? I'm kinda just looking for a 4barrell intake manifold and a supercharger at the moment. However, the 1950 merc is my favorite car, and if he has any pictures of either, I'd love to see some pics of it. I'd really like to make this into a street legal, yet drag-"raceable" vehicle, it's just such a hassel finding all of the parts to make it happen. Anyone have a time machine?

You might email Wyomingcarsandparts"at"yahoo.com , he should have the 4 bbl. manifold , at one time I think he had a super charger ??, he has some Pakards of that vintage.
