Know that a rear main seal leak is a bear to fix, but how about a front timing cover leak to fix ?

Coupla times. Lots easier than rear main. You may need to move a hose or two out of the way. A piece of cardboard will protect your radiator fins and your knuckles.
The Forum provided the means to break loose the crankshaft bolt. You may want to do a "Search" on the topic. Once you've bent back the lockwasher tabs and lined up the correct socket/breaker bar, slip a length of pipe over the wrench and pull it up against the frame and bump the starter, and you're loose.
The seal rides on a steel sleeve that can be reversed once the crank pulley/bolt are removed.
If you pull the cover for seal replacement, you may consider timing chain & sprocket replacement since everything is exposed.
