Stepdown colum shift linkages
-
Hi, have been having increasing trouble with shift linkages on my 53 Super Wasp. Gets stuck in gear and have to get under and free up linkages. Does anyone have any tips on setting up correctly. I confess I have not had a good look at the gearbox end yet, Any advice as always will be gratefully received. Mike.

I don't own a Hudson of that era but I'm sure this is a problem of the linkage and I'm surprised that no one has jumped in with a "fix" yet! Hold tight, help is on the way, I'm sure....

Mike,
There are a multitude of reasons for the problem you are experiencing. I speak from experience. Before launching into any solutions let me ask if you have a OEM Hudson mechanical procedures manual? If you do the first thing I recommend is completing the shift linkage check and adjustment procedures. If this does not correct the problem, email me as I have confronted and corrected this problem in a 53 Wasp with double lever w/OD trans.
Good Luck

Thanks Ken, have sent you a PM.
