When you knock the assembly apart to replace the outer one it's kinda hard on the inner one . Mine was definately a gotta go thing . Bearing was still good . Couldn't find a seal. My fix . Went to the leather shop and got a stiff piece 5/32 thick . Shaft measured about .990 so I made a hole punch from pipe to punch a hole about .940 . Outer dia just traced a circle big enough so it would tuck into the groove for it . Camferred the outer edge so it would go in the slot , when you put it together it will seal again between the parts . . Next step takes a steady hand . Carved the edge mateing the shaft to about 1/16 inch smaller than the bearing opening with a small Xacto knife . When you put it on the leather will stretch a bit , now got a seal twice as wide as original , fits good all around . BUD

A previous thread posted said that you can fit GM seals for the inner and outer seals - both approx $3 each. Regards, Barry

Now I find OUT !!! Anyone got the numbers or year models for them ? May have to do it again some time . Not an easy task makeing them for most guys , I happen to be pretty skilled with my hands due to my violin makeing and takes a lot more time than worth it for $3----BUD.
