Quiet air filter for 2bl Holley/308ci
-
I need a filter to fit the 5 1/8" 2 barrel Holley carb that will also fit under the hood of a stepdown and quiet the intake noise that I get from a Typical 7" paper/chrome deal. And it has to look good as well.
Im thinking nostalgia here, such as a small Bat wing, or what do you suggest?
Thanks, Philsr -
Hey Philsr,
Are you height constrained??? I would think that almost anything would fit under a Hudson hood...(oh - bonnet sorry). I guess we're not sure of your application??
LeeThis Hudson project is starting to scare the crud out of me!!! -
Hi Lee,
No height issue, it is a 308 in a 53 coupe, which has a 2 bl 400cfm Holley. I am trying to muffle the intake hissing that is audible thru current filter. I am seeking a unique looking solution. Maybe I should convert a pair of Hornet filters to a log to the Holley.

I always thought the spun aluminum filter housings look cool....I think speedway sells them....but they are a little on the small side. I've also thought that a "TRIPPLE H" set up would be kind of bad ass
This would fit into your "log" idea!! I'm not sure about the hissing sound....could that be fixed by just using a thicker/heavier filter, or does it need to be encased in a housing to get away from the noise??
Good luck!
