Sure it ran. Easiest way to move it around.

Hey Russell, that looks like yours when you had it tore down!

Didn't know those hub caps were an option before '54. Interesting.

Also, they could fit one more kid in that car. Have them lay down up on the package tray/back window. :) That was my spot, more than once.

Amazing isn't it that you now need to buy a truck instead of a car if you have any hope of that type of interior space. Of course it's different now because every car you see passing you on the road only has an average of 1-2 people in it....even in the SUV's.

I hzve a flyer from the factory dated October 1951 showing a 51 Hornet with those hubcaps. The flyer was pushing dealers to sell them as options. I lent it to the the current HET president---Aaron to copy

Come on Larry, you know you can't trust that guy! He has probably lost the flyer by now...I will try and scan tonight. : )

As a child I spent many hours sleeping on the package of my Dads 51 Hornet when we went on trips. My son and I just installed 6 seat belts in my 52 Hornet. I thought about 8 sets but the wife nixed that idea. Can you imagine 8 people trying to find the right belt to buckle up. LOL What a comedy that would make.

    Aaron-

I see you have a '51 Hard Top. Got any pictures of it? What kind of shape is it in?

Russ, here is the 20 footer picture. Lots of little things that need to be fixed. Lot of little rust spots, interior is good/servicable. I just rebuilt the engine. Dr Doug did all the prep, and I put it together. I painted the firewall and powder coated all the inner fender/mudflaps pieces. Seat belts, AC and an exterior paint job is next.
