I have a 73 mustang, and just picked up a new carb for it. It came of a 74 Torino, and i was wondering if will work with the mustang. It is a 2 barrel Ford 2100 seris carb. I would like to find specs or uses for this particular carb. It is labeled Motorcraft D4AE-EA. It also says D AD 8 on the tag underneath D4AE-EA, and 1.21 under the accelerator pump rod, and 11 on the bottom. If any one could tell me what this means it would be very helpful.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you want specs for it. Are you looking for the carb settings? i.e. float adjustment etc.?

Motorcraft Model 2100-D 2 - Barrel was a staple of Fords. They made them for amny years and were a very reliable fuel delivery system.

The carbureor number prefix and suffix (D4AE-EA) was stamped on a tag attached to the carb by one screw. The first letter of the second line on the tag indicates design changes which may affect parts replacement. Other letters on this line are assembly codes designating time of manufacture.

D4AE-EA was the carb that was for ALL MODELS that had the 351 W engine in it.

If you need more specific information I can try to find my Line 9 manual and see if that has any further information.

I hope some of this helps

Thanks, this info is helpful, but what modifications does it need to run with the '73 302 in my Mustang.

There's probably little difference in the carbs. I would think that the jetting may be different is about all.

I would put it on and see how it runs. Worst case would be to take it in to a shop that has an infra-red analyzer and see how it;s running.

Without really looking at the details of both carbs i'm sorry I can't say what the result would be, but the car should run fine.

I'll see if I can dig up more details on the carb for you.
