Restoring Medallions

I need to recolor the trunk, dash and steering wheel medallion. I contacted Emblemagic and they just want to sell news ones which cost a small fortune.
Can I prevail upon owners of 1946 cars to send me or post pictures of these medallions so I can attempt to match the colors and format.
I understand that 1946 medallions were a black and gold combination.
