Hudson police car that wasn't
-
OCW has a 1 page article about the '49 S6 sd. that was run thru B-J's auction in Scottsdale recently. To make a long story short the town of Johnston, Iowa wasn't even incorporated then & wasn't until the '60s.
The guy who created the "police car" never even lived in Johnston & "created" the Hudson police car sometime the '60s.
In a para. in the article OCW goes on to say "In - - - out of print reference book "Cars Of The State Police and Highway Patrol" on Alaska used Hudsons but I thought I'd read in HET stuff that Montana used '51 Hornets - any thoughts on this? -
Real, authentic ex-police cars, stock car racers and taxicabs are awfully scarce, most of them having been driven to death. I did see a DeSoto circa 1946 Sky View (real) ex-taxicab on Ebay recently, but apparently it had spent its entire life as a movie car.
