Been looking high and low for a Fuel Sending Unit for a 70 Catalina..Can the Fuel Sending Unit be rebuilt on this model? Does anyone know why this particular year/model has no parts availablity to include aftermarket?

It may be possible that another GM car's sending unit may be innerchangable. (Buick, Olds, Chevy Impala) A wrecking yard may have a Hollander book that shows what parts are innerchangable between cars.

    Just a thought. Lee

Sure did...Great resource! Also checked Ames. I was told to start checking junk yards. I'm kinda reluctant to do that with that particular part. I might just drop the tank again and try taking it apart and cleaning it really good.

    Thanks

Ron, thanks for the info. Contacted a few folks/businesses and the average rebuild for this Sending Unit was $250.00 so based on the info. I went to work. I successfully rebuilt it myself with a little patience and about $40.00

Thanks to Summit Racing, an adjustable 0-90 ohm Fuel Sender from VDO (pn# 226-008) and a 3/8 drill bit. Anyone need any additional info. please reply.
