What are the two terminals on a late model overdrive solenoid for? There is a fat one and a smaller one?

Thanks richie. This is what I need. The only problem is that it's so small that I can't read it. Could you send it in a different format to my email address please. arminard@comcast.net
Thanks,
Allan -
Please send it to me as well (hetRick_Clark@yahoo.com - remove the 'het'). I'll see it gets added to one of my online areas under technical documents.
-
Rick, I sent you two e-mails and both came back. Richie

addendum: Just tried the link in my signature to my email account - which had previously worked, does not work any longer(?).
I'll put my email address in 'clear' - rick_clark@yahoo.com , if that one doesn't work, try trucker.at.heart@gmail.com. -

Rick, it went through this time. Edit your e-mail address out of your post. Richie. -
Got it - Thanks! I will post a link or two here, once I get them online.

Here You go. They are in two different places, and file types. One is a .TIF file, and the other is a .JPG file
The .JPG file -
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Hudson_Trucks/photos/album/1836856391/pic/list
The .TIF file -
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Hudson_Trucks/files/
I tried putting it on ClassicCar.com, however the site keeps 'auto-reducing' the size of the file, making it hard to read... -
All the above correspondence aside, the answer to the original question is that the large terminal is the engagement part of the solenoid, so it connects to the contacts of the OD relay. The smaller terminal is the ignition shorting circuit, so it connects to the distributor side of the coil, via the "bottom" terminals of the kickdown switch (the two terminals furthest from the threaded part of the switch).

Thanks to all. I thought I had it wired correctly and I did. I had to check further and found low voltage. It's working fine now.
