Some time ago a member posted pictures of Hudson Wasp gauge set up of which I am attaching picture, as I am getting closer to final installation of dash board and although I have better than decent original gauge's depending on availability, performace and price I'd like to consider what other member installed...If anyone remembers or knows about gauge's in picture I'd appreciate learning with information sent to my email:

Your right Rick and I just emailed them...If I could have my original gauge's restored (see picturer) I rather install them, if not I would consider ones pictured Wasp.

Those are nice looking gauges - I'd put them in a Hudson in a heartbeat. Even tho they aren't original, they are "after market" and after market can be, if like these, acceptable. I'm not sure I'd want to be in a Hudson if you try to bend the speedo needle at 140, tho. LOL

I'd say these would be beyond acceptable.

Yup, that was my thought when Adam initially sent me the photos for posting - those guages look 'sweet' in the Hudson surround!
I actually did some looking for aftermarket guages, and like what Classic Instruments has to offer.

- From what I've seen scouring eBay, etc., the guages you are looking to have restored are readlily available in excellent condition, and with a bit of searching and luck you might even find a set of them in NOS condition...

That being said - If I had both sets of guages sitting before me with that Hudson housing - It would be a 'tough' decision as to WHICH set to install...

In case anyone is interested, I called Classic Instruments this morning and learned following cost of pair of item # TR52SLC 5" gauge's in pictuce is $569.00 and cost of 5" clock starts at $395.00

Yep, a bit pricey - but you pay for what you get... Anything bought directly from a mfr usually goes strictly for retail - Look around, you can probably find them a bit cheaper.

Dolphin or other aftermarket guages will probably fit just as well.

I love the original gauges but, I really think that setup in the first picture would look great in your car. It's clean, a "little" more modern and fits with the surround for that dash very nicely.

That's just my .02 for what it's worth!

Thanks to all with input and comments, I am confused even more now, but leaning towards Classic Instruments gauge's, keeping my old original rebuild clock and gauge's on a shelve somewhere?

Someone will buy those parts from you at some point if you don't use them.

The CI gauges will be easier to make work with your newer wiring/engine combination as well.

Come on, Ray! You know as well as I do, that if you don't use them, then you can save them for your NEXT Hudson project!

I like the looks of the gauges in the Hudson.

I believe the Classic Gauges can be ordered with either flat glass or convex glass. I like the looks of the convex glass but unfortunately no matter what angle you look at the gauge, there is some light reflecting off the glass at some spot on the glass.

Wow! That is a heafty price. The cost has gone up alot in the last couple of years. But they sure look good.
