Long shot
-
I know this is a long shot, In the early 80's I sold a 1953 Hudson Super Jet that I had put a 308 Hornet motor in. I would like to get it back. Anyone know of any Hornet powered Jets ??
Mike -
You might check with the HET Club's "Jet" registrar, who may have that information (so long as the current owner of your car has bothered to register it with the Club, of course!). The list of registrars is shown in the back pages of the WTN.
-
As Jon says, you may want to contact the Jet Registrar.
Jerry Bean is the The HET Club's Jet Registrar, (419)339-9200, HEThudsonjetman@hotmail.com (remove the HET).
Also, you might want to check with Sarah Young (that's her handle here on the forum as well), she is a focal point of the Hudson Jet community and I believe she also publishes the 'Jet Set', a newsletter for those that own or are interested in these Hudsons. HETSarahdYoung@comcast.net (remove the HET), (360)893-0247.
Here are a couple of links on Hudson Jet websites that Sarah established, maintains and manages -

Guys thanks for the info. I have already spoke to Jerry not luck. I will e-mail Sara

Here are some pictures of three different "Hornet-Jets" I've come across at Hudson shows in Nebraska and Iowa.

That last one would look a little better if he hadn't hired the woodchuck to gnaw out the top and bottom pieces for his air cleaner. . .
Neat cars, otherwise- I assume you have to go into the firewall a little to shoehorn a 308 into a Jet? Looks like it in the bottom photo, but could be an "optical illusion." -

HAHAHAHAH!!! LOL! A "woodchuck"! That's funny, right there. -
Thanks for the pixs, mine was a 4dr. black top light green bottom. 308 bored to 328 cu.in. 500 cfm holley, stock hydro, Mustang rear end. It was a calif. car with great body and new paint.
Mike
