Modern engine in classic Ford?

I've been trying to track down a car to restore and make a plan for it. so i was wondering if you could just drop a modern ford racing engine into a classic, say 73 mustang??

If you are putting something high performance into it for the look and just for kicks, I would say that it's practical.
Just my nickles worth. I am more of a purist anyway. I think it's fine though when people do things to please themselves even if it's not the way the car was manufactured.
Tell us more about what you want to do with it and what your plan is. There are a couple of Ford guys that stop by from time to time that are pretty knowledgable and can add a lot to what you want.
What type 73 do you have? Coupe? Fastback? Mach I

Well i dont have the car yet, i wanted to have a plan for what to do with it before i bought it. I planed to put the new ford 306 crate engine and put it in the 73, then use it for a daily driver.
