Transmission parts
-
First gear is out of the OD transmission in my '46 Coupe. What are the sources for the internal parts I might need? Does anyone have any NOS parts?
My mechanic suggested I find another transmission and he would rebuild completely. Is that feasible and who might have a complete OD transmission? Are any of the internal parts available from NAPA, i.e. bearings?
Thanks -
Jim, the bearings and seals are available. I just replaced a rear bearing and seal on my '47 OD unit. For gears, I'd check with someone like Al Saffrahn in AZ who rebuilds a lot of these trannys. I expect he's either got good spares for rebuilding or can tell you where to get them. hetal_saffrahn@q.com (remove "het" for actual address). Other contact info for Al is in the vendors list in the WTN.

I second Park's recomendation. Al rebuilt my double lever with O/D totally. I would recomend Al for your rebuild too.
