Essex Vehicle number location?

Where would either the body number or engine number be on this??? He has the title, but can not find the numbers.
A question on the HAMB came up, a fella wants to know.

Tell him to look on the exposed portion of the frame at the back, near the bumper, on the passenger's side. Back where the rear of the rear spring attaches to it. Seems to me it's back there, stamped into it, on the top.

From a Branham's Automobile Reference Book, covering the mid-to-late 20's, says: Serial number on six cylinder models on top face of rear cross member. Motor number on six cylinder models on pad of crankcase just above oil gauge on left side of motor.

on my 28 the number is located on the data plate on right side of fire wall and is also stamped on top of right rear shackle frame mount, the engine number is stamped on left center of engine block just forward of lower water outlet.
if title does not match the body number then check the engine number, my 28 Essex is registered with the engine number, not to confuse the Calif DMV I left it that way when I registered the car.
