A Minor Rant
-
Is it just me or is old age making me cranky. I love this forum and read it daily, but lately it has been driving me NUTZ to try and read posts that go on and on forever and ever without so much as a paragraph break. It's kinda like taking a long drive in the country and having someone in the passenger seat ramble on and on for hours on end. Yah just want to grab em by the throat and tell em to take a deep breath..Now it isn't that difficult to pause and insert a . at the end of a sentence then hit ENTER.
And start a new paragraph... See
I did it

WOW, talk about taking the creativity out of my prose? I once wrote a one sentace-paragraph letter that took a full page of 12 pika font type. I was so proud. Then I went to work writing operating procedures for a company that wanted all written work at the sixth grade level and no sentace longer than fourteen words intoto. I guess if it is communication that you want; I can give it both ways.....Brownie

My hand is in the air, as I'm sure I'm one of the guilty ones. Can't help it, the subject matter is one of my favorite subjects, and I get pretty wordy from time to time. Hey, if my post is too long, blow past it! -
Tom,
Are you trying to quit smoking again
-
Tom, I agree with you a hundred percent. There really is no excuse to at least attempt a legible sentence that does not carry on for an entire paragraph! The long, rambling monosentence posts are the ones I generally ignore."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..."
