57 Hot rod front end help
-
My 57 210 hot rod has chrome control arms. the bushings have squeezed out, I have no Idea where to find these bushings. Do I need to take the control arms out and visit the napa counter?
It appears to have a rack and pinion steering conversion, it has disk brakes. anybody have any sugguestions. -
The control arms will have to come off to replace the bushings. At that time you should be able to measure the opening and find the correct ones.
When you put the new ones back in you should probably take a round file to the opening to rough up the chrome so that it doesn't happen again.

I assume its the rubber blowing out of the shell. If its really a hot rod then check out www.p-s-t.com for their polygraphite bushings. I had them in my 84 Z28 and they were great. Never squeaked and really made the front stiff. Only deflection left was in the tires. Made for a harsh ride over potholes though.
