1937 Terraplane Tail light lense
-
I am still looking for a tail light lense for my 1937 Coupe if anyone can help. Plastic or glass is okay or a lead on where they are made.

Trevor , are you wanting something that looks original or just some good lenses that will work ? Something that will work is easy , original type is hard to come by right now . BUD -
Hi there.
I would like the original lense, I have others that I can make fit but dont look so good. Sooner or later the original will turn up. I thought someone may know where the plastic ones are made.

Hi Trevor, why dont you get 1 made here (NZ)or a few and sell the rest, there are people that would do it as I now Gary Chown had some side lights and headlights 1s made for his 31 Coupe, Iam sorry that I cant tell you where to go but you could ring Gary and tell him I sent you to him 0274993376

Trevor, can you give me size of your lens you are looking for, I'll look through my stsh and see if I can find one, I know I have the number plate rear lens.

K-Gap offers the patrician "Hudson", but not the plebeian "Terraplane", taillight lens for sale.

Upgrade your car to the level of "snazzy" with a modest outlay!
If these things are truly becoming scarce, reproducing a batch might make a nice project for someone with some deep pockets to finance. There are a few companies which will mold taillight lenses in plastic. It would mean steady if modest sales over the years (especially if the seller doesn't get too greedy in price, and doesn't expect to get rich!). EVery time one of us has to change a taillight bulb and fumbles with the lens, there's another sale.
Unless, of course, someone discovers a stash of original glass lenses in the meantime. That's the dangerous side of capitalism!
I'm sure one of us owners could be persuaded to mail an original lens as a pattern, to a qualified reproduction company in return for, say, one half-off on the first plastic repro in the batch! -
Hi there.
Until recently K Gap offered the 37 plastic Terraplane Lense so I assume there was someone making them and was wondering if anyone knew who that was I would be happy to buy some

I never got your E-mail. Checked my parts car but found the tail light broken. Sorry
