1959 361B locked up

i have a dodge royal the motor is locked but the bottum end will move a inch it seems like the transmission is stopping it but it still rolls its a push button drive and i hear they can be started like a standard transmission. can this happen to this type of transmiision because the push buttons dont seem two work right two are pressed in at ounce any help thanks for looking basicly need some one that no`s these push button trannys :cool:

...if the engine is 'locked' then there will be no movement. If it will turn a little in either direction before stopping then you have several potential scenarios. If the engine has been sitting a long time it is likely rust in the cylinders. Pull the spark plugs and spray some penetrating oil into each hole.
It is also possible that a con rod came loose...
For detailed info on the trans check with the guys on the 'forward look' web site. They have a huge crowd over there all dedicated to cars like yours.

As the other guy said, take out the spark plugs and spray in PB Blast. I freed up an engine with PB blast and it runs good now. I have a 59 Dodge also and they can be push started, but dont try anything until you have the engine unlocked and running.
