56 Steering Gear Unit
-
Hello Forum Members,
I have a 56 New Yorker with a steering gear/box problem. Had it rebuilt by Steer n Gear, but the car sat idle much of the time because of other restore work and leaks as it did before the rebuild. Is a Desoto or other car have a compatible unit? Is there a reasonable, cost effective conversion to avoid future problems with the old technolgy. If I have to rebuild the same unit, it's going back to Steer n Gear, they're pretty good, it's just my luck, I guess.
Help! My car once again is sidelined and without a better fix, not worth much.
