I've always been enamored by the best. The best car to ever come out of Detroit was a Hudson, hands down. Packard (at least Pre-War) a fairly close 2nd. Hudsons were WAY over-engineered. Nothing even comes close and I've worked on them all.

Best to come out of Chicago was a Tucker.
Best out of Indy was Duesenberg.
    Best out of UK: Rolls.

I'm a fan of most any car built prior to '72 and mostly '29-'57 (the Golden Years).

Gee.... lets see. Hudson, Terraplane, Essex. Then Graham, Hupp, Reo, Gardner, Overland, (sigh). I guess for me it just has to be older than 1935. I like cut under buggies and surries, too.....

Modern - Ford Falcon (Australian) on my 3rd over the last 6+ years and love them! Better than a Holden :)
Vintage - Essex & Hudson (of course!)

This is a funny post for the Hudson page. I would expect that the answer would always be the Hudson that I am working on, sold, or have out in the shop? Over the years I have sought out various cars, bought them, built them and then sold them. I have owned or worked on most brands and can say that some have been fun. However; with that said my car of choice today would be my 36 Hudson Stratton Sport Saloon or my 54 Hornet Special.

Mercedes Benz. Consistently outstanding engineering and design leadership and corporate survival skills. THE BEST OR NOTHING (Die Beste oder Nichts) is their meaningful slogan.

"I 've had cars from A to Z, but,Hudsons are my speciality", The world isn't right unless I own a Hudson, learning that the year of Hudson that I have doen't matter that much. After Hudson, I really like my wife's Studebaker Lark Convertible.

Aircooled Volkswagens, 49-67 - the earlier the better. Simple and functional. Hudsons number 2. Though I am a fan of the post war to 57 era body styles. If hudson Made a station wagon, it would move to number 1.

The pictures of the Hudson woodie wagon are not photoshoped. It is a real car based on Don Butler's drawings, and was at Auburn IN. national meet.
