As far as I know, there isn't a supplier for this. Check with your local upholsterer and see if they have something. Several Hudnuts I know of still need this piece.

Also, check Restoration Specialties (google them on-line) and see if they have something that will work. If you find a good source, please share with the rest of us.

Just for your information, I emailed Dennis Carpenter requesting stainless steel bead rerquired for dash and received below message.

"We do not have the parts you need

You may want to try www.restorationspecialties.com"

I may installed item I picked up from a upholstery supply store that looks similar to stainless steel bead, but not same durabilty; it's clear plastic pipping offered in gold or silver with insert of almost same width of original Hudson installled.

Please advise, if you would like pictures.

Hi Steve does it look like or similar to Hudson stainless steel bead?

The stainless steel beading from Dennis Carpenter is a fender welting and has a very thick bead. It is what is used for the 41 thru 47 rear fenders on Commadore models. You cannot use this on your dash as it's about 100 times larger that what you need. The dash welting has been thourghly researched and there is currently nothing comparable to it. If yours is not good, I would simply leave it out.

    Wildwasp-

Yes, it is very near the correct diameter and was planning on looking into this possibility when the time comes.

    Ray-

Please e-mail me a pic, as I'm yet to solve this particular dilemma for the 'vert. and like I said in an earlier post, have several Hudnuts who are also looking that I know of.

Reference bead picture offered in gold & silver, almost finished with my Buick and will start to complete next week. I am just waiting for delivery of American Racing Wheels and install new set of tires, install hood and button up required balance of restoration...I have restored white ssteeing wheel that I'll be using, not pink one in picture. Yesterday I had VIN # inspected and finally received rergistration & plates...

Reference dash/bead from my upholstery shop, my concern for almost identical look of stainless is item pipping/bead is made from vinyl and in Vegas hot sun, may discolor in time; I can always use sun shades or dash cover, but would prefer to find proper stainless steel?
